The Canadian Navy – an associate member of CADC – hosted the multi-national deep diving excercise for Naval Special Forces (Mine Counter Measures) divers held this year in Victoria BC and hosted by the Canadian Fleet Diving Unit Pacific. Photography by Doug Elsey. (DougElsey.com)
The slide show is presented to the participants on the conclusion of the excercise as a overview of the stills (and video) shot during the two week excercise showing them at work in the wind, rain, cold – and deep diving while conducting mission scenarios of real life deep diving tasks done to 80 meters (while diving from an inflatable boat). These are the heros that search for and neutralize mines and bombs in war zones. Serious and professionals to the core. These exercises are held each year different countries (and different water / conditions)
Photo documentation support for the exercise was sponsored by donations from Cobham Diving/Mission Systems, Diver Magazine, Oceaneering International, Aqualung Drywear, Salco Precision Machining, Dive Rite, and Sican Norway. See the Video at http://www.DougElsey.com/dd2014/index.html
