DCBC Updates Diver Certificate of Competency (CADC MAG REPRINT)
By CADC Admin ~ December 13th, 2015. Filed under: Press Release.
In response to feedback from industry, the Diver Certification Board of Canada (DCBC) has modified the design of their diver certificate of competency. The new certificate is designed to increase security principally by re-designing the back of the certificate.
The design now shows the name of the certificate holder and the certificate number on the back of the certificate as well as on the front. The definition of the diver’s competence has also been greatly shortened to allow more room for endorsements, which may now be fully spelled out as in the CSA Competency Standard, rather than represented by abbreviations.
In addition the coloured background has been replaced with a crisper rendition of the underwater design. Previous security features such as the hologram overlay on the front of the certificate, which prevents alteration of the divers name or photograph, have been retained. The new certificate design was implemented in January 2015.
